QUESTAR PIPELINE ANNOUNCES OPEN SEASON

SALT LAKE CITY -- Questar Pipeline Company, a subsidiary of Questar Corp. (NYSE:STR), is holding an open season to determine the feasibility of expanding its Northern System to provide additional natural gas deliveries to the Kern River Pipeline.

Kern River Pipeline, which runs from southwestern Wyoming to Southern California, is currently undergoing expansion to increase capacity by more than 1 million cubic feet per day. Questar Pipeline's proposed expansion would provide interested shippers the opportunity to deliver up to an additional 150,000 decatherms per day to Kern River. If shipper interest is sufficient, Questar Pipeline plans to provide access to Kern River through an existing interconnection at Muddy Creek or a new interconnection at the Opal Processing Plant in Lincoln County, Wyo. Questar Pipeline could also connect with Kern River at the Painter lateral if sufficient interest is indicated.  This option would provide additional volumes above the 150,000 Dth/d.

Questar Pipeline's open season for the potential expansion of its Northern System began Aug. 27, 2002, and will close on Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at 5 p.m. (MST). The anticipated in-service dates for Questar Pipeline's proposed expansion will coincide with the completion of the Kern River expansion project in mid-2003.

Questar Pipeline's interstate pipeline facilities serve gas production basins in Utah, Wyoming and the western slope of Colorado. Under Questar Pipeline's proposed expansion, shippers will have the following primary receipt point options for delivery to Kern River at Muddy Creek or Opal:

*Kanda/Coleman - WIC
*Kanda/Coleman - CIG
*Questar
*Overthrust Pipeline

In addition to gas supplies from Questar Pipeline's existing receipt points, the proposed expansion would allow access to new  gas supplies from Powder River, Wind River, Wamsutter,  Pinedale and Jonah through existing interconnects with interstate and intrastate pipelines.

Parties interested in obtaining new or additional firm transportation service on Questar Pipeline's system are invited to submit bids during the open season. Copies of bid forms and details of the open season, including facility maps and bid requirements, can be obtained online at questarpipeline.com or by calling Brent Kitchen at 801-324-2117; Lynn Arnold at 801-324-2941; Tom Myrberg at 801-324-2978 or Shelley Wright, supervisor marketing, at 801-324-2509.
